Shooting Bands Part 2!!

Greetings and salutations, I've returned again with another band shoot!

This shoot was similar to the Sour Bridges gig where I didn't know where I was shooting and didn't know what they had in mind. The not knowing of the location was my fault as I forgot to go take a look at the bar before hand. Things worked out great in the end!

I arrive early the morning of to get a look at the bar, band was already unpacking so I introduce myself. We talk about what ideas they have, I make my rounds around to see what I can see and we are on our way!

Next was this really cool bar table/booth setting with black leather and wood table tops. This was one of the scenes I was most excited for. I just felt we could make it something fantastic, I feel that happened with this scene. As usual they all did a great job in making my job easy by having a good time.

From here we go outside! They made some shipping containers into a covered chilling area with pallets as benches and tables! Real creative and good for some photos.

And around the right side of the container healed another great spot with some benches and a tree...
So it got pretty silly here.

We venture off out side of the bar now to find a alley way full of green!

Next was this old barber shop, we tried to get inside and found that there was a man living inside of the place. I thought that was kinda strange, even more so because it looked so run down. However, the inside of the house looked like it would have been a great shot! Heres outside!

Shooting Bands

Welcome humans!! This will be a long post to make up for what i've been holding back.
In early March I had the pleasure to photograph Sour Bridges which was a last minute deal. With I had no location or direction to the shoot in mind. The band was the only ones who had an idea of what they wanted and I hoped that I was going to be able to capture what they had in mind. I was told a week before the shoot or so that the shoot would be at one of the band members house.

When I arrive I see for the first time what I am going to work with and I can't lie, I was unsure how I was going to make it work for them. Luckily, after explaining what was lurking in these brilliant peoples minds I shared the same vision and was ready! First was the porch during sunset. Now I can not wait for the CD release to hear the new music and see how my work played out with the album! Take a listen here!
Album comes out on May 12!

Next was the fence directly behind me in the photo above! Different mood though turned out great!

After this scene, back to the porch for some good ole dawn photos with a bit of a different feel again.
Then we all went inside for the last location, after bouncing a strobe off the wall to get my lighting I was set!

This really is a good band, to anyone who likes blue grass music, don't sit around listening to the same old songs jam Sour Bridges!
