No time like the now.

A normal day or abnormal Monday loading the car to go to Harris Hill Raceway for some  motorcycle training. I'm looking all around as it's a damp morning and I like to check the ground for further conditions.

I've never really noticed before spider webs in grass like this, a white blob of webbing.
I think to myself "I wonder what it would look like close up?"

I hook up my lens in reverse  which acts as a macro lens allowing me to focus very close to the subject. I use my camera strap to stabilize the camera by placing the strap around my knee and pushing away creating tension as I kneel down acting as a natural vibration reduction.

Here are the results of what I was able to come up with.

Second Blog of the Year! Art Haus at Pour Haus.

I can't believe I have been so busy that i've almost forgotten to post about the Art Haus at Pour Haus.  Also I was the only photographer showing at this event which surprised me a bit.

Let's start out by saying that every one of the artists blew me away with the skill they possess. I've been to other art galleries in New Braunfels and couldn't take it serious, all the great artists seem to have come out of the woodwork for this, so props to the two that set this up. This not only was art it was also musical, and the musicians that preformed had some really good music!

So! Everything was last minute since I couldn't come up with an idea of how I was going to set up my photos, even more so because all I have printed are small photos in the same frames. With the help of my brother I came up with this !!

Now that I had the setup, I needed lighting!! Well, thanks to a extremely bright 2000 lumen bike light on a light stand with a umbrella I was set!

After everything was set up I decided to walk around and enjoy the art along with meeting some cool individuals!
So, here are those photos! Hope you enjoy them as I tried to capture the ambiance of this monthly event.

Blog of the Year

Why is it blog of the year? To start out, in just a few days time I will have my first art showing at "Art Haus at Pour Haus" in New Braunfels (January 17th) and I am nervous. At this time I am still working on a display set up, this is not exactly easy if you haven't done it before at least for me. I'll hopefully have this figured out before the 17th..

Shortly after that I'll be taking a trip with my best friend, brother and friend to the big apple New York City!
I'll be spending a whole 6 days in the city and staying in a hostel the whole time. This is another thing I need to prepare for, however the logistics side of the trip is taken care of not the adventure.

And this does not include the entire race season that will take place! That will be a different blog entry.
Have a good new year!!

Racing in the rain then a wedding after? PT.2

So, to finish off the blog post for the race weekend! Lets see! This wedding was totally unplanned for me and I had NO idea who any of these people were. WHAT I did know was what I do best, improvise and get the best photos.. Even though I was not hired I still tired to work with the quickly falling light and that posed a challenge. So here are some of those photos in no particular order!

Racing in the rain then a wedding after? PT.1

Hello Followers!

I swear i'll blog more! So i'm going to publish two right here right now! How's that sound? Good!

Last weekend Oct 31st 2015, I had my first CMRA start!! It was not the best start to a race however before the first turn! I had already gotten many people though that turn!! How exciting was that you ask? VERY Because it was all done in the rain!!!
I continued to move up to the front of the pack in the first two laps of the two hour race.
Right before the second lap was ending I had a problem, I couldn't see! The visor to my helmet was fogging up due to the inner liner that was made to prevent such things. Earlier on in the year I had ripped the fog proof liner and never replaced it.

I kept pushing till I realized I could not see the track conditions worsening.. I made the decision to slow down dramatically after a really close call to ending the race with a crash. Over all, our team made it in 5th place in class which isn't to bad considering! We also had a scary amount of tornado warnings and lightning storms!
Here are photos and videos of that weekend?!
 Race start!
First turn where I realized I can't see the track.
Where I realized it wasn't worth it.
Drive to the track.

First sign of rain on the way!

 Friday Practice... In the rain!
Gross Mexican beer after not crashing out of practice and getting second fastest!
We got our pit up and ready for the race!
Then we (Team mate Stacey) get stuck inside during a freak storm!
And what we came to find after the rain storm!! :(
 To many storm warnings!

CMRA racing Pt.1

This weekend on Saturday I'll be in my first 6 hr. endurance race on my 250 Ninja sport bike..
A little background of the bike. I bought the bike stock and tore it all apart and started rebuilding it into a race bike.. I sent in the suspension to be built  to Keith Hertell to built into full race suspension. Last weekend I was able to test the bike out for a few hours.
Bike ran great, handled great and I learned I have much to learn to get fast at riding.

Sadly, no photos in this post till maybe Sunday or Monday!
Lets hope for a great weekend and some fun video to come!
